Kiwis Plantations

This kiwi orchard covers approximately 2.5 hectares and has 2,700 plants cultivated in rows, maintaining a distance of 2 to 3 meters between each plant. For every 4 to 5 female plants, there is 1 male plant, ensuring a considerable production.

The kiwi orchard grown here is of the “Erika” variety, which has characteristics very similar to the traditional kiwi but with greater production capacity and more resistance to diseases.

Throughout the year, the kiwi plant requires plenty of water. Since kiwis are harvested in mid-November, the production cycle follows with pruning at the end of winter. In April, the fruit begins to bloom; in May and June, the fruiting process occurs; and in July, it is sometimes necessary to carry out fruit thinning or green pruning.
