Houses
The Village of Diagares was made up of humble and simple houses, like all the others in the mountainous part of the municipality. They were the property and residences of nobles, fidalgos, and members of the church. While still simple farmhouses, they were slightly wealthier than the homes of common folk.
They were originally the homes of fidalgos, until they became the property of D. Maria Leonor Brum da Silveira Cabral, who was born in 1895. She decided to move to Porto, and as she was unmarried and had no descendants, she chose to rent out the houses in the village, turning them into homes for caretakers, members of the common people.
