BlueRibbon Blueberry plantations

As we enter the land of the Requeixe Farm, we observe a large number of potted blueberries, the BlueRibbon variety. This variety has a size similar to OzarkBlue, is sweeter than OzarkBlue but less sweet than Duke, and has superior firmness. BlueRibbon was planted to replace previous varieties like BlueGold and Chandler, which were not ideal for export due to their lower firmness and higher acidity or extreme sweetness, respectively.

On this land, there was originally only a house, which has been renovated so that some of the workers can live in it. This farm has always had plenty of water and has survived through agriculture. It was considered a meadow because it is sheltered by the mountain and is very fertile, where most of the vegetables were grown.

At the top of the land, we can only see chestnut trees and a water reservoir. From this spot, we have a perfect viewpoint over the areas of Baião, Resende, and Régua. From here, we can also spot a variety of birds, such as eagles and milvus.
